Wednesday Evening Spiritual Formation Group: January - May 2010 As we continue to examine and experience a deeper walk with God, individually and as a group, we will emphasize this winter and spring the combination of strengthening our love for God and fostering love for our neighbors, especially those in need. We will use as our primary text a wonderful, Biblical, practical, readable book by Trevor Hudson: A Mile in My Shoes - Cultivating Compassion. Trevor Hudson, a pastor in South Africa, has led many in his church on local mission trips, compassion, and transformation in the process. Our group will alternate discussion of the truths in the book with practicing related prayer forms, thus attempting to deepen our desire and understanding of being people of prayer while exploring ways to put our prayer into action in our every day lives.
